B.motion is the Festival’s most innovative section which has become in only 5 years the reference point for dance and theatre contemporary languages. It offers two intensive weeks of installations, performances, happenings and shows. An original and innovative program which gathers in Bassano young talented authors already active in the national and foreign panorama. For this 2010 edition, the commitment and international vocation of the Festival strengthen, as well as its attention to new professionalisms and their creations through co-productions, residences and other support forms.
There will be 33 meetings, concentrated in 2 weeks; 17 national premières, 5 between studies and premières, 11 co-productions. In addition, meetings, workshops, theatrical criticism laboratories, in order to promote dialogue among artists, operators, critics, researchers and public. B.motion DANCE artists relate the body in all its possible declinations. Shown or concealed, constrained or free to express doubts and wishes. To provide a personal interpretation, some of the international young dance scene’s most lively talents. A group of artists coming from each part of the world. Involving, original and eclectic languages. Different choreographic courses, different ways to make the body live on the stage through forms which are a mirror to their interior worlds. Intimate confessions told through delicate or angry movements. For a borderless human feelings’ geography! B.motion THEATER protagonists follow 3 courses: Dramaturgy, Visions and Bewilderment. 3 different ways to read the scenic event in a special edition to celebrate the Festival’s 30th anniversary: a synthesis of the theatrical forms and genres which have passed through the 30 years of the festival. The first segment offers some experiences which aim at focussing on the word, even though manipulated. The second one gathers examples of a theatre made of visions rather than of texts. The third one plays with the surprise effect, overturning the basic relationship between actor and spectator. To animate these 3 courses, a group of artists which perfectly embody the B.motion theatre’s strict and irreverent style.
