Choreoroam aims to build Europe wide communities of choreographers, to increase the profiles of dance artists and to stimulate emerging talents through dialogue and interaction with creators from other art forms and outside their own country. The project brings together 13 choreographers to engage in residencies and workshops, research seminars, presentations of their work, debates, meetings with local scenes in Croatia, The Netherlands, Italy, United Kingdom, Denmark, Spain, Portugal. This is a new and innovative venture which formulates a unique collaboration between the 7 project partners, professionals and dance artists. Partners provide and share their experience, their know how, to begin to create real networks and bring a real dialogue and intellectual exchange to stimulate the participating dance creators. By providing such opportunities, Choreoroam aims to enhance the professional and cultural development of these artists by affording them the chance to engage in other countries with other choreographers, workshop leaders, mentors and some of the leading minds provoking the creative processes in contemporary dance. Provide a secure environment for these choreographers to research and share, to challenge and review their work together and stimulate their working practice through a dialogue across cultures. Build a network of international choreographers and organisations with a legacy which will remain beyond the immediate life of the project. Build relationships between choreographers, organisations and dance communities and audiences that truly enhance opportunities arising out of performance situations for all participants. Develop a dialogue of sharing, feedback and confrontation within these communities. Establish a local identity and network for choreographers within specific European locations. Through geographic displacement and the outlook of practitioners from other countries, create opportunities for dance creators to influence their work from a different cultural perspective. Develop personal and leadership skills during the implementation of their own works. During these months all the artists’ approaches to sharing experiences, researching and developing a creative process, giving feedback will be documented.
