Thiene, an important town of the Vicenza province, dates back to Roman times, and is set in a strategic position at the foot of the Asiago highlands and just a few kilometres from the outlet of the Astico Valley, surrounded by the fascinating piedmont zone.
Worthy of note is the fifteenth century Villa Porto Colleoni Thiene, and the Town Theatre, a rare example of minor Nouveau Art hosting one of the most important Venetian seasonal prose events .Other important cultural events are held throughout the year, such as the historical re-enactments Thiene 1492 and the yearly Thiene flowers and food festival in the month of May.
