Asolo is a fantastic town, rich in history, culture and tradition and rises on the southern border of the hills that cross through the landscape of the Treviso plains at the foot of the Mount Grappa massif. Blessed by a mild climate, and evocative views of its architecture and by the panorama of “a hundred horizons”, Asolo has always been the favourite site of renowned people like Caterina Cornaro, Eleonora Duse, Freya Stark, Robert Browning, to name a few.
Castello Regina Cornaro Gardens
The castle, once the home of Ezzelino da Romano and Caterina Cornaro, is a massive, ancient medieval construction which had often been modified, and rises on a rocky cliff southeast to the town centre. The building preserves, besides some wall sections, the grand Praetorian hall, now a theatre, and the majestic Clock Tower. Today, the garden and its breathtaking natural scenery is a venue for cultural events, and is partly used by the 19th century Beach Villa.
