Cartigliano

When the Romans colonized the fertile plain which, from Vicenza leads to the pre-Alpine slopes and the mountain passes opening towards the north, they marked the entire territory with the characteristic centurial "Fundus Cartilianus" subdivisions, or Cartiglian property, at the origin of the municipality of Cartigliano which originally arose east of the Brenta River.
The town is located at around 8 km southwest of Bassano del Grappa. It features particularly interesting sites such as Villa Morsini Cappello, the Cappeller Zoo-park, the Da Ponte Chapel (Deanship Church of Saints. Simon and Jude).
It is part of a territory which flourished due to prolific industrial activities and an equally thriving agricultural production.

Villa Cappello
Villa Morosini Cappello: a Palladian building constructed at the end of the XVI century and attributed to Francesco Zamberlan, Palladio’s disciple. It became a property of the municipality in 1966 and houses the Town Hall offices.
