Montecchio Maggiore is a pleasant town set on the plains between Verona and Vicenza, forming a frame work with the Lessini Mountains to the west and the Berici hills to the south-east. Its gentle hills are ideal for relaxing walks, and along with its top-level historic heritage and the fascination of its Veronese castles dominating the city from above, make up a picture that is worth visiting. Montecchio’s noteworthy yearly program consists of a great variety of cultural events, from concerts to theatre reviews, up to the grand medieval commemoration held on the first of May at the castles and during the OperaestateFestival, enlivening the warm summer evenings with cinema, dance, theatre or cabaret.
