Philosophy, metaphysics, and mathematics blend in an original way in *Tacet*, a twice-award-winning play that Jacopo Giacomoni wrote with that final secular rite - both personal and collective - in mind: the “minute of silence.”
On stage are six performers, metronomes, and music stands, minimal tools for probing time, traveling through its duration, and making it felt as living matter. The power of the performance lies in the mathematical interplay of six clocks, six hearts beating in unison before the audience’s eyes, creating a presence that eludes time, suspends it, and makes its essence perceptible.
*Tacet* invites the audience to experiment, to view silence as a theatrical element, and to experience time alongside the performers in an immersive, precise, and radical experience.
Structured like a theatrical score in four movements, the piece explores what it means to be together in silence, within a minute, within a theater.
