It is inspired by Shirley Jackson’s novel *The Bird’s Nest*, which examines the blurring of the self and the multitudes that inhabit it. The protagonist is Elizabeth, within whom four young women coexist: they share the same body, but each has a different personality, memory, thoughts, and perceptions. Each has a goal: to assert her own story, personality, and thus identity, in relation to the others. But who is Elizabeth really? The impossibility of answering this question leads to the horrific solution of a real murder, to eliminate every aspect of the feminine, considered sick and disturbed, and thus give birth to a new being. From the ashes of Lizzie, Beth, Betsy, and Bess, like a modern-day Frankenstein, Victoria is born, devoid of emotions and memory, “a depopulated landscape to be repopulated,” an “empty vessel” to be filled as one pleases.
