El Pacto del Olvido is a theatre monologue that investigates the historical silence about the civil war and the regime of Francisco Franco in Spain
National Premiere by and with Sergi Casero developed in the program Live Works no9 - Free School of Performance di Centrale Fies (Dro, Italia) in collaborazione con il Centro de residencias Matadero (Madrid, Spagna).
El Pacto del Olvido is a theatre monologue that investigates the historical silence about the civil war and the regime of Francisco Franco in Spain, its intergenerational transmission and its effects born after the dictatorship. How do we relate to the past? Who tells it, how does it tell, what language do we use to describe what happened? Through an autofiction narration, which combines personal experiences, testimonies and documents collected during the research, the performance supports the value of collecting different perspectives through memory and oral history, highlighting the margins of collective silence, questioning the "official" narratives ” of history and their transmission processes.
