Tra gli alberi walk is a performance-walk among trees, a free wandering through history, legend, and botany, strolling among the trees of a private yet collective small wood; a journey of discovery and knowledge composed of thoughts, sounds, memories, sensations, and scents dedicated to trees and different arboreal species. On the hills of Mussolente, along the Nature Trails, a theatrical walk entirely centered on the theme of the trees that the audience will encounter along the paths and the watercourses so abundant in this land. The performance-walk is led by the actress Angelica Zanardi and the musicians who accompany her and punctuate the story, and is enriched by the tasting of scented essences associated with the various tree species created by Giuseppe Caruso/Smell Atelier. “In the most distant past, before man made his appearance on Earth, a gigantic tree rose up to the sky. Its roots sank down to the underground abysses, its branches reached the empyrean.” Before a tree, man begins to dream. Their never-identical shapes, their rustling, their scents inspire us and their presence intertwines with our lives, always transmitting an enveloping sense of protection, of communion. Before a tree, we can sit, lie down, converse, tell secrets, or remain in silence leaning against its trunk. A tree tells us about what happened before us and what will happen after, it suggests secrets and mysteries of life, it speaks to us of our silence and that of nature. Under a tree, pacts have been struck, marriage acts celebrated, men judged, celestial voices heard, miracles and healings invoked. Every tree species has its own history, its uses, its precise nature and vocation.
