A contemporary rewriting of Hamlet, where the protagonist is trapped in a loop within the Interzone—inspired by Burroughs—facing Gertrude, Ophelia, Claudius, and Lacan, opening ironic and incisive reflections on Desire.
The setting shifts between Tangier, Denmark, and an American or European metropolis, inhabiting a limbo where past and present intertwine. The production features two actors and one actress: Antonio Perretta plays Hamlet, while Leda Kreider takes on the roles of Gertrude and Ophelia, and Sem Bonventre portrays Burroughs, Lacan, Polonius, and Laertes. Rapid costume changes and minimal scenic elements identify the shifts between characters, ensuring clarity in both dialogue and narration. The show follows a path between suspended life and death, as Hamlet, urged by spectral presences, attempts to break free from the author who created him.
Through a kaleidoscope of references to Shakespeare, Burroughs, William Tell, and memories of lives both real and invented, the piece explores relationships, conflicts, and correspondences spanning centuries, questioning the relationship between origin, desire, and freedom.
