Fuga BWV 565 is a performance based on running, which becomes a metaphor for a paradoxical existential condition: that of someone who moves while remaining still, fleeing from themselves and their own contingencies in search of a well-being that is always yet to come. A training session on a treadmill provides the occasion for an imaginal drift, set to sounds from Baroque music and the world of entertainment, capable of rewriting the very meaning of sporting practice. With this project, the artistic duo Palermo/Petrosino continues their research into the nature of the performative act starting from the everyday, giving life to a minimal choreography of concrete gesture, on the border between reality and fiction.
