ODE is a bodily poem that explores the core of female strength through gaze and movement. It is an act of embodied poetry: dynamic, melodic, distilled. Choreographer and performer Elena Antoniou and musician Maria Spivak meet on stage for the first time. Following Landscape, presented at Operaestate in 2024 and currently continuing its journey through festivals across Europe, Elena Antoniou’s new work follows a path that shifts the gaze, space, time, and the relationship with the spectator. In ODE, the two artists redefine every performance venue as a field of attunement, positioning themselves on a threshold where fracture transforms into a possibility of rebirth. Vulnerability is shaped as a passage toward a different form of strength, while hierarchies and pre-established roles dissolve. Presence asserts itself: it becomes sound, movement transforms into vibration, and coexistence becomes an act of reclaiming space. ODE is a powerful, melodic, and dense state—an act of embodied poetry. A gesture of transition: from dominance to a language of elevation. As Audre Lorde says: “Your silence will not protect you.”
