Two artists united by a deep love for Bach. Two artistic paths that, though born of different artistic languages, find in his music a shared home for the soul.
For Roberto Zappalà, Bach has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration: in his works, the German composer’s music becomes living matter, a breath that flows through the body and transforms it into a poetic gesture.
For Ramin Bahrami, one of the most acclaimed interpreters of Bach in our time and described by German critics as “a magician of sound”, Bach represents a choice of devotion and freedom. His interpretations reveal Bach’s human and spiritual power, with a touch that blends rigor and emotion.
In Bach Dance Concert, these two artists come together to bring to life a wordless dialogue: not a concert, not a choreography, but a shared act of love for music and dance, for the universal harmony that Bach continues to evoke. Sound and movement become a single body, a single voice—a danced concert where time stands still and everything returns to its purest essence.
“Bach loved to remind us that singing and dancing make for better prayer. We can therefore only enthusiastically welcome this joyful union of music and dance, in which the counterpoints of the great Bach are brought even more to life through the expressive movements of extraordinary dancers. With their sinuous and sensual lines, they trace Bach’s harmony in space—a harmony that is at once that of the cosmos and the microcosm—projecting toward future generations a musical and artistic message that remains ever-vibrant, relevant, and luminous.”

“In Bach Dance Concert, I join forces with Ramin to bring to life a wordless dialogue: not a concert, not a choreography, but a shared act of love for music and dance, for that universal harmony that Bach continues to evoke. Sound and movement merge into a single body, a single voice: a danced concert where time stands still and everything returns to its purest essence.”

Ramin Bahrami, a pianist renowned for his in-depth interpretive exploration of Johann Sebastian Bach’s keyboard works. His cosmopolitan background (with German, Russian, Turkish, and Persian influences) allows him to take a unique approach that highlights the universality of Bach’s music. Born in Tehran, he graduated from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan under Piero Rattalino and continued his studies at the Imola Piano Academy and the Stuttgart University of Music. He has performed at major festivals and prestigious venues both internationally and in Italy, including La Scala and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. Bahrami is an exclusive artist with Decca-Universal; his CDs, which have been bestsellers with both the public and critics, prompted the Corriere della Sera to dedicate a series to him. His recordings are regularly broadcast internationally and have appeared five times in the top 100 best-selling pop albums. He has published several successful books with Mondadori, Bompiani, and La Nave di Teseo.
