Giacomo Zanella (1820-1888), a poet, literary critic and patriot, always harbored passion for poetry, divided by affairs of the present and mystical ignitions. His famous opera, Conchiglia fossile, admired by Andrea Zanzotto, influenced the development of the italian opera, narrating everyday reality, towards the movement of the Crepuscolari. Master of Antonio Fogazzaro and Vittoria Aganoor Pompilij, he was in contact with numerous writers and he spoke about his beloved Veneto landscape, in the moment in which the textile industrialization started to transform its appearence, entering into the complex world of the industrial dynasties, between the Roi of Vicenza and the Rossi of Schio.

In the high air of the Asiago Plateau, Vasco Mirandola and Sergio Marchesini set their poetic-musical narrative. This poetic concert features collaborations with other musicians, sculptor Marcello Chiarenza, and choreographer Silvia Bugno, inspiring wonder, intimacy, and a cry against the world's injustices. Although poetry doesn't reinvent the world, it translates it, observes it from above, and descends when needed. Like today, to accompany us on our tumultuous journey, with tenderness.

Here, Fresu's lyrical and dreamy trumpet, with its melancholic and ethereal tone, blends beautifully with Uri Caine's piano playing. Caine's style is rich with countless influences, from blues to mainstream jazz to the avant-garde, and even classical music.

Guided by the internationally acclaimed choreographer Marcos Morau, La Veronal returns to the stage with "Sonoma." The title itself, a blend of the Greek soma (body) and the Latin sonum (sound), hints at the work's multifaceted nature.

"Sonoma" is deeply inspired by the art and life of Luis Buñuel, the master of surrealist cinema. Morau intricately weaves together elements of opera, dance, and physical theatre in a quest to discover new ways of expressing and communicating our turbulent and ever-changing present. The result is a work incredibly rich in themes, allusions, and profound ethical and aesthetic suggestions.

In a world where meaning seems to dissipate, "Sonoma" portrays a group of women seeking an escape through pure irrationality and instinct. They abandon their bodies, falling freely through surreal and dreamlike landscapes. Through movements of astonishing energy and hypnotic beauty, and by playing with symbols drawn from folklore, religion, cinema, and art history, the dancers' physicality becomes the voice of a rebellious, primal scream. "Sonoma" invites the audience on a captivating journey between dream and fiction, between the human and the extraordinary.

New Production

Silvia Gribaudi's new work stems from the need to reinvigorate dialogue with the audience and prompt reflection on how we perceive other bodies, and how we can revolutionize our own gaze. Through powerful imagery and movement, the choreographer/performer pushes her fifty-year-old body to its limits, revealing a dynamic flow that transcends age-related changes.
This project is rooted in research into dance pioneers such as Isadora Duncan, Anna Pavlova, and Pina Bausch. It explores the desires that move our bodies, inviting the audience to become a witness-chorus and share gestures and aspirations.
